How Duel Keno Works

This creates a different type of casino experience from Mines or Crash.

Server Seed, Client Seed, Nonce and Cursor

The terminology sounds more complicated than the concept.

The server seed is generated on the casino side. Duel commits to its hashed form as part of the fairness process.

The client seed provides an input associated with the player. Duel allows the player to contribute to this side of the process rather than letting the casino control every input used to generate the outcome.

The nonce identifies the progression of rounds and increases as games are played.

The cursor is used internally while Keno performs its repeated shuffle steps. Duel’s documentation states that the cursor begins at 0 and progresses through the 39-step shuffle.

These values feed into an HMAC cryptographic function, producing numbers that are subsequently used by the shuffle algorithm.

You do not need to calculate any of this to enjoy Keno. Most players will never manually reproduce a single shuffle.

But the ability to do so matters.

Provably fair gambling is not about forcing every player to become a cryptographer. It is about making the result independently verifiable for anyone who wants to check it.

Are Duel Keno Results Predetermined?

Yes.

According to Duel’s published fairness documentation, the final positions are determined through the server/client seed combination and the associated shuffle process. Your selected numbers do not cause the casino to generate a conveniently different set of winning numbers afterwards.

This addresses one of the oldest suspicions players have about online casino games.

That is a phrase I have read on casino sites for years and it tells the player almost nothing.

Does Picking Different Numbers Change Your Odds?

This is where Keno creates plenty of myths.

What We Don’t Like

Keno will feel repetitive to players who expect elaborate casino games.
